The Medical Staff Nephrologist must be a qualified medical doctor, who has successfully completed a recognized ACGME or AOA residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Nephrology. He/she must be licensed to practice medicine in the United States Virgin Islands and must be board certified in their specialty within 5 years of joining the organization. He/she must be credentialed in Schneider Regional Medical Center as an associate or active member with appropriate privileges in Nephrology to admit, evaluate, perform history and physical examination, diagnose and provide treatment or consultative services to patients 18 years of age and up presenting with illnesses and disorders of the kidneys. He/she will also admit and manage patients in the critical care unit. Privileges include hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and catheter insertion. He/she will utilize these modalities to diagnose and provide treatment decisions regarding the patients’ health problems and collaborate with other medical providers as to the appropriate management of patients and their conditions.
Education & Experience
Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and Nephrology fellowship in an ACGME accredited institution.
