The Policy and Performance Improvement Specialist position is responsible for performing administrative duties under general supervision. This position differs from other administrative classifications in that it requires a significant amount of independence in performing duties, including acting on own initiative and direction while providing a high level of administrative support to the Department. The Policy and Performance Improvement Specialist support hospital-wide policy, quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives. This position assists with data collection, documentation, reporting, and coordination of improvement activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This is an exempt position that reports to the Chief of Quality and Performance Improvement Officer.
Education & Experience
An Associates’ degree in a related field with 2 years experience or a High School Diploma or an equivalent certification from an accredited institution, vocational or technical certificate of completion in Business, Administrative or Office Principles, with 5 years of applicable work experience. Medical Terminology Certification will be beneficial. Knowledge of administrative and office procedures.

This work is performed in a sedentary setting and involves prolonged periods of sitting, some standing, and walking; it may occasionally involve exertion of up to 10 lbs

Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel

Possesses the ability to work well under short timelines and meet deadlines
Demonstrates time management skills to prioritize multiple competing assignments
