Is responsible for sound knowledge and proficiency in clinical pharmacy dispensing of chemotherapeutic agents and other medications used in oncology and hematology. Collaborate with oncologists, hematologists, radiation oncologists and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements for the handling and administration of chemotherapeutic agents with reporting responsibilities to internal and external stakeholders to include regulatory agencies. Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust medication regimens. Displays expertise in utilization and of pharmacy management software systems. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions. Develop and deliver educational programs for healthcare staff on oncology and hematology pharmacotherapy.
Any combination of a 5-year Pharmacy Bachelor of Science degree, Stay current on the latest research, treatment guidelines, and emerging therapies in oncology and hematology, to include clinical trials.
