· Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations for adult patients.
· Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions in hospitalized patients.
· Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions under physician supervision.
· Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
· Monitor patient progress, evaluate responses to treatment, and adjust care plans as appropriate.
· Respond to urgent and emergent situations, including rapid response events, within scope of practice.
· Perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice (e.g., IV insertion, wound care, catheter placement, minor procedures).
· Participate in daily rounds with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
· Coordinate care with nursing staff, specialists, case management, and ancillary services.
· Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
· Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges, including completing necessary documentation and instructions.
· Ensure timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
· Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
· Perform other related work responsibilities as required.
