Is responsible for performing a wide range of complex and non-routine accounting and auditing functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and established organizational procedures. This role supports one or more core financial areas, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other related financial functions. This is a professional-level position within the Finance Department that requires independent judgment, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial systems. The General Ledger Specialist II blends core general accounting responsibilities with financial systems management, reporting, and analytical support to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. Two (2) or more years of increasingly responsible experience performing a wide range of complex accounting activities, including using computerized record-keeping systems and interpreting policies and procedures.

Ability to manage daily accounting and work with department leaders to assist with departmental needs. Excellent customer service skills, both internally and externally, are required. Recommends process improvements to increase efficiency in processing or analyzing financial information. Proficient in the use of MS Excel.
