Under the direction of the Director of Laboratory Services, plans, organizes, schedules, and directs the department in order to effectively utilize employees and equipment to meet established turnaround time and material utilization within budgetary constraints while adhering to quality technical standards. The Manager provides direct on-site analysis of the day-to-day operation including adjustment of specimen workflow, test performance, quality, compliance, and associated documentation to adhere to the applicable regulatory agencies and Schneider Regional Medical Center’s policies and procedures. Salary: Based on experience.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University with major coursework in medical technology or related science field, such as microbiology, chemistry & biology preferred. ASCP certification preferred. AMT certification accepted. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a laboratory setting. Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor preferred.

This work is performed in a sedentary setting and involves prolonged periods of sitting, some standing, and walking. Ability to transport, usually by lifting and carrying, materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Considerable knowledge of relevant agency and regulatory policies and procedures.
Considerable knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws, statutes and regulations.
Considerable knowledge of standard laboratory procedures including phlebotomy, specimen processing, patient privacy, and laboratory safety practices.
Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Proficient computer and laboratory program software skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster an environment of cooperation, support and teamwork.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
