Coordinates department-specific orientation and education programs for nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Educator assists with updating nursing policies, training nursing staff, providing continuing education, assessing nurses’ competency, and monitoring certifications. Position influences quality patient care, promotes interdepartmental teamwork, enhances nursing staff development, and participates in retention and recruitment activities. This position applies adult learning theory to evaluate the educational needs of the nursing staff, develop and teach educational programs, and provide in-service training. The position maintains effective relationships with staff, peers, preceptors, and nursing leadership to promote staff education effectively. Based on experience.
Education & Experience
A BSN is required; leadership experience is strongly preferred; Holds a current VI RN license; minimum of three (3) years relevant nursing experience. Knowledgeable of state and federal OSHA, NIOSH, CDC, CMS, Federal, and USVI law; requirements: AHA BLS certification.

Is aware of the risk of exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and/or body fluids. Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, walk up to 4 hours a day, and sit for up to 4 hours a day.
