is a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who provides expert psychiatric care within the emergency department and inpatient settings. The PMHNP is responsible for evaluating and treating patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms or behavioral health crises. This includes comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, medication management, and coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams and community-based services.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a psychiatric mental health specialization. Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience in emergency or psychiatric care preferred. Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Virgin Islands License. Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is required.

Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, walk up to 4 hours a day, and sit for up to 4 hours a day. Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis. Is aware of the risk of exposure to communicable diseases, blood, and/or body fluids.
BLS, ACLS and PALS certification are required.
