The Administrative Assistant II position is responsible for performing administrative duties. Under direct supervision from the Director of SRMC Heart and Lung and acting on own initiative and direction, provide routine administrative support to the Department. Analyze problems, determine approach, compile & analyze data, properly schedule patients for services, and prepare reports/recommendations for action by the Director. The Administrative Assistant II will work as a team member within the entire facility and will perform other duties as assigned. The Administrative Assistant II assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policy
Education & Experience
Any combination of a High School Diploma or an equivalent certificate from an accredited institution, vocational or technical certificate of completion, Certificate or college credit in Medical Terminology, and 1-3 years of applicable experience in related field.

This work is performed in a sedentary setting and involves prolonged periods of sitting, some standing, and walking; it may occasionally involve exertion of up to 20 lbs
Specific Requirements
Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other office applications including Meditech.
Knowledge of established hospital, departmental and unit policies and procedures, goals, Performance Improvement initiatives, safety, Environment and Infection Control.
Demonstrates and facilitates good customer service.
