The Administrative Care Coordinator (ACC)/Clinical Nurse Educator coordinates department specific orientation and education programs for nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Educator assist with update of nursing policies, training of nursing staff members, continuing education and competencies assessment of nurses and monitor certifications. Position influences quality patient care, promotes interdepartmental teamwork, enhances nursing staff development, and participates in retention and recruitment activities.
This position operationalizes adult learning theory in evaluating educational needs of the nursing staff, developing and teaching educational programs and in-services, position maintains effective relationships with staff, peers, preceptors and nursing leadership to effectively promote staff education.
Direct supervision is received from the Chief Nursing Officer or designee.
Is aware of risk of exposure to communicable diseases; blood and/or body fluids. Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs. and lift/carry up to 20 lbs. on an occasional basis. Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours a day, walk up to 4 hours a day, and sit for up to 4 hours a day.
Professional Rescuer BLS certification. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers. Excellent communication skills—verbal and written; Ability to build trust and keep information confidential; Excellent organizational skills.
