Senior Vice President of Financial Services

The Senior VP of Financial Services is responsible for the overall financial needs of the organization and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The SVP of Financial Services has knowledge of the policies, procedures, rules and regulations that apply to the practice in an inpatient care setting. This person is knowledgeable about policies and procedures pertaining to Joint Commission, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid services and all other local and federal regulatory standards. The SVP of Financial Services provides leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team as well as oversight to the revenue cycle management departments. This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and the Financial Services Department.  (Exempt, Full-time) Starting Salary: Based on experience

qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, minimum of ten years’ experience in finance and accounting.

Hazards & Physical Requirements

Work in this category is majorly sedentary and involves sitting, some standing and walking; may be required to lift or pull up to 10 lbs. frequently or 20 lbs. Occasionally; will work in an office and throughout the building daily. Position is a Category 1 risk of exposure to infectious diseases, but receives training in hand hygiene practices, Universal Precautions and has access to personal protective equipment if direct exposure is anticipated; is subject to interruptions and noise daily.  

Specific Requirements

  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures, rules and regulations that apply to the practice in an inpatient care setting.   
  • Knowledge of hospital/departmental policies and procedures, emergency protocols, Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid services and all other local and federal regulatory standards. 
  • Ability to (or possess the skill level to gain ability to) define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; also apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to evaluate administrative and personnel policies, procedures, and practices for a small department and recommend improvements where necessary. 
  • Ability to make presentations before management, public groups, and staff.  
  • Knowledge of analytical and grammatical skills necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  
  • Ability to make presentations before management, public groups, and staff. Ability to work with a wide variety of other professionals and staff engaged in the delivery of health care services. 
  • Ability to gain the confidence and respect of the public to be served and the staff.  
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills are essential. 
  • Knowledge of basic government structure. 
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and be available.
