is responsible for compiling the Patient Listing daily to ensure that charts are received from the nursing area for all patients seen and documentation for all patient encounters from the Patient Access/Registration area.  This position notifies the areas of any missing records.  The Health Information Management Technician IV is responsible for timely and accurate assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS, and APC Modifier, and professional emergency department or clinic E & M codes to outpatient encounters and ensures that all diagnoses and procedures are documented and verifies that all charges are captured for every patient encounter, once confirmed an ICD-10, CPT and PCS codes are entered into the Meditech (EMR).  In the absence of the Patient Access Representative, temporarily assist in the registration process.
